Good reports for Simplicity

Published on 28/05/2014

Launched mid 2012 as the easy answer to managing brome grass in winter cereals, it has provided outstanding control of
this weed as well as being equally effective on ryegrass, wild oats and many other key broadleaf weed species, the company says.

Feedback from growers who applied Simplicity to the perimeter of their crops with the aim of preventing brome grass from invading are now saying that in hindsight they wish they’d sprayed the whole crop, not just part of it.

“They’ve found the difference in performance between sprayed and unsprayed is very noticeable,” says Phillip Meares, Dow
AgroSciences’ Canterbury territory manager.

“Also noticeable has been Simplicity’s ability to improve management of wild oats. I have been more than impressed by the level
of control, particularly on larger wild oat plants.”

Simplicity was developed by DAS, contains the active ingredient pyroxsulam and is registered for use in wheat, cereal rye and triticale.

As well as brome grass and wild oats, it also controls annual ryegrass and other broadleaf weeds like chickweed, field pansy, shepherd’s purse and white clover.

Phillip Meares says another key benefit is the lack of crop rotation issues, because soil residues only last days to a few weeks.

Simplicity is available in 10 L packs. For more details free phone your local Dow Agro- Sciences territory manager, 0800 803 939.
