Dockstar from Nufarm contains 390g/L asulam sodium salt as a soluble concentrate (SC), and will open opportunities in the pasture market, the company says.
 

Presented in 20 L packs with a dual pourer, Dockstar should be applied in spring for best results, prior to emergence of the dock’s flowering stem.
 

“Trials show that docks are best controlled in spring when they are actively growing. This ensures the chemical is translocated

throughout the plant,” explains Nufarm technical specialist Paul Addison.
 

Published research indicates that while some suppression of pasture growth after Dockstar application may occur, losses

in pasture DM are significantly lower than those incurred with the use of traditional thifensulfuron-methyl formulations which to

date have been one of the most popular dock herbicides.
 

Control is relatively slow with peak control occurring two to three months following treatment.
 

Very large, well-established docks may require a follow up application.
 

“Docks, as most know, are a real issue for farmers in many parts of New Zealand. They’re persistent and tough to eradicate

once they take hold. Dockstar gives customers another tool to use in keeping their pastures productive, and free of weeds,” Paul Addison says.
