Kenso Corp celebrates 40 years

Published on 13/02/2015

“Watching Kenso grow and prosper over the thirteen years that the Australian division has been in operation has been very exciting,” says Rob Armstrong, general manager for Australia and New Zealand, who attended the event.

“While locally we focus on the crop protection segment it is great to see the other sides of the business develop; I am sure opportunities for Australia and NZ will present themselves from these activities over time.”

Since its humble beginnings Kenso has continued to successfully expand and diversify its operations to become a truly integrated agricultural supply chain operation.

Agchem and organic fertiliser production remain its core business, but its plantations and food divisions have also become significant parts of the company’s operations.

The anniversary dinner included customers and suppliers from many countries including Taiwan, Indonesia, Myanmar, Thailand, Japan, Malaysia, China and Australia.

Kenneth Soh, who founded Kenso in 1974, spoke at the anniversary about the loyalty and dedication of staff who had helped make the company what it is today.

He recognized the many staff who had been with the company for over 30 years who were in attendance.

Apart from the dinner, guests were taken on tours of two of Kenso’s manufacturing facilities at nearby Pulau Indah. The first was a tour of the Kenso ISO 2001 agchemical formulation plant followed by an inspection of the ISO 22000:2005 Longson Food production facility, which is Kenso’s food processing division.
